Part II. Ethnic cleanser (43)

Chapter 50 Elder daughter, Anat (2) A groom selected by Shy-Rock (1/3)

Anat’s husband was selected by her father. He was by far the best pilot within his father's subordinates. He had visited her home often when Anat was still young. Shy-Rock liked young officer not only for his skill and sense as a pilot but also because he was the same Ashkenazi.

Shy-Rock was a worshipper of genealogy. He was steadfast in his belief that the Jews were the Chosen People. In addition, he believed that the Ashkenazim were the "Jews of the Jews." For him, the Sephardim from Iberian Peninsula were one step below Ashkenazim. The Mizrachim from the Middle East and Caucasus were second-class citizens. The new immigrants from Russia in the 1990s, even they claimed to be Jews, were the third-class citizens. Shy-Rock doubted them whether genuine Jews or not.
