Chapter 52 Elder daughter, Anat (4) Doctor
Girgo (1/3)
The name "Dr. Girgo" was a slang
given by ex-general and its daughter. Having emigrated from Russia to Israel
with his peasant parents as a new immigrant, he was baptized in a communal life
of a kibbutz far from the city. However, the life in a kibbutz was nothing but
pain for him. He could not adapt himself to it. He struggled to escape the
kibbutz. And become doctor.
After becoming a doctor, he called himself
"Doctor Zhivago" after a book by the great Russian auther Boris Pasternak. But his friends called him
"Doctor Jekyll” because he was paranoiac and sometime a man with a double
character. Two names were amalgamated into “Doctor Girgo" by a father and
a daughter.
