On the other hand, there was a case in which
the species might vanish due to internal factors such as weakening of
reproductive ability. If the reason could be clarified at the genetic level,
the decline of that species might be stopped. In some cases, it might be
possible to discover the method to enhance the reproductive ability of spieces.
Doctor Girgo thought if the method of enhancement could be applied to the Jews,
his dream would come true. He decided to take up the Arabian Oryx as a sample
which was endangered species.
The Arabian Oryx once lived widely in the
Arabian Peninsula. But it was threatened with extinction. In these days, the
species kept alive by artificial breeding only. He heard the news by chance that
one female Arabian Oryx had died at the zoo. Dr. Girgo immediately offered the
disposal of the corpse of the Arabian Oryx to carry out a pathological
investigation.
